Co-op Local Community Fund
We are extremely pleased to announce that a new Kingsmoor Friends project has been chosen to benefit as a Co-op Local Community Fund. The fundraising for this project will run for one year with Co-op.
We wish to create a new space (which we are calling a wellness hub) within the school grounds eg. a log cabin or yurt. We then want to run classes and groups within that new space for both the school and the wider community. To help us raise vital funds, we’ll be relying on Co-op Members. When a member buys selected branded products and services, the Co-op will give a helping hand to local causes like ours. Co-op members can select us as their local cause by visiting: https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/590295 We really hope that people will visit the website and select us as their local cause. We will keep you updated on our progress - but you will be able to see how much we have raised as we go along by vising the link above. Please do share this for us so we can raise as much as possible for this new project.

What we are raising money for:
We would like to create a new wellness hub within the school grounds, such as a log cabin or yurt, where we can run classes and groups for the school and the wider community.
We wish to rebuild our community spirit following lockdown. We will kick-start a regeneration of our school ethos and build a space to come together after lockdown has eased. Our Kingsmoor code is: “We look after each other, our school and everything in it. We try our best in everything we do. We are friendly and polite towards each other." This will be extended to all that attend.
Our Ideas Include:
Build a semi-permanent structure with soft furnishings + sensory aids.
Deliver training & afterschool activities to all, including exercise, talking and support groups (eg. Pilates, Yoga, Singing and Book clubs.)
Provide a place where users experiencing difficulties with social/emotional development can relax and be taught how to handle their emotions.
Allow shared learning across all ages.
