European Day Of Languages
Saturday 26th September 2020 was European Day of Languages.
We celebrated this day at Kingsmoor by embracing different languages, learning French songs and creating posters of different European Countries.
The whole school took part in a celebration assembly to tell us what they have learnt about this special day!

Year 1:
Opted to make their own posters at home (a couple of children brought in some interesting facts – see photo).

Year 2:
Enjoyed a whole class celebration of Spain by creating posters showing different key facts (see group photo showing just a selection).

Year 3:
In class the children played a game of ‘Guess the European Flag’ and each child ‘had a go’ at producing a poster about their given country.
Further to that, Year 3 were invited to create their own poster/booklet at home to celebrate a European Country of their choice. We received a fantastic A4 booklet on Greece created by Annabelle in our class. Annabelle worked on the booklet every day for a whole week. The rest of the class mainly chose to do posters but Wow! What an array we received. Facts about Spain, Italy, Norway, Turkey etc. (please see photos)

Year 6:
Created posters on many different European Countries finding out some curious facts such as…in France, ‘never place a baguette upside down on a table’ as it brings you bad luck, this gem was discovered by Rosie.

As you know from assembly on Friday morning, Saturday 26th September is European Day of Languages. We are celebrating this day at Kingsmoor by embracing different languages, learning French songs and creating posters of different European Countries. Next Friday the whole school will take part in a celebration assembly to tell us what they have learnt about this special day!
